About Me
My name is Rain Bright, and I’m graduating with my BFA in Animation/Illustration.Before pursuing this path, I worked as a licensed cosmetologist, doing hair and makeup for nine years. That career was largely chosen for me by family. But after years in the beauty and retail industries—and eventually burning out—I had to reflect on what I truly wanted to do with my life. That was the moment I realized I had to give myself the chance to do what I’d always wanted: learn how to draw, and hopefully, one day, create the kinds of characters that inspired me as a kid. It just so happened that SJSU offered the exact major I was looking for, so I decided to go for it. Even though this is my second career, I’ve never felt more at home than I do among my peers and professors here.
