Jordan Motion Headphones are designed for athletes who listen to music while they train and are constantly moving between different positions. Most headphones are made for sitting or standing still, but workouts often involve movements like planks, bench presses, or floor exercises where headphones can slip or feel unstable. This project started by looking at how people actually move during workouts and where traditional headphones tend to fail. Through sketching and exploring different structures, I developed a dual-band headband system that can swivel forward or backward depending on the user’s position. When someone is lying on a bench, the band can rotate forward for support, and when doing floor exercises like planks it can rotate toward the back to help keep the headphones in place. The final design was inspired by the Jordan brand’s focus on movement and performance, creating headphones that adapt to the athlete instead of forcing the athlete to adjust their gear.
