Naomi Munguia
Hello my name is Naomi Munguia, I’m a senior studying Interior Design at San José State. When I was younger my mom would always watch HGTV and little did I know she was influencing me to start my journey into interior design. My design philosophy centers on communities, culture, and environment. Design can provide a chance to create positive change within the community, contribute to sustainable development, and shape the future of everyday life in a meaningful way. I believe it’s important for the users to feel comfortable and safe within the space. Users should feel relaxed and at ease in their surroundings, which can bring a positive impact on mood and productivity. I enjoy creating designs that rejuvenate spaces by drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and intricate patterns. I also enjoy incorporating vibrant pops of color into my projects, infusing spaces with a sense of branding, excitement and fun. I am most interested in commercial design and residential, specifically helping the community and understanding the client's lifestyle, culture, and values to tailor the design to their specific needs and desires, ultimately creating a space that feels uniquely theirs. Outside of school, I like to go to the gym or on hikes to stay fit but also enjoy being outside with nature. I also like to cook and bake because it makes me feel calm and happy especially when people try my food or desserts.
